Women of the Bible

Many people who normally do not read the Bible have forwarded the idea that the Bible or minimize discounts women. Certainly it places here and there women who are not mentioned (as Noah's wife), but there are many places where people are nameless (the Good Samaritan, for example, never named).

Not only women in the Bible for important posts, including the title roles sometimes the way which the Bible speaks of women is truly progressive and rather out of step with the times in which the stories were written patriarchal.

Take Esther. It would be difficult to find a heroic figure, male or female. Uprooted as a young woman and took a harem, Esther rose to become queen of a world power. Through no fault of yours, Esther quickly engage in judicial policy of the royal family of the most dangerous in the world, namely the court of Xerxes King. (King Xerxes was so paranoid that seven men could enter his presence without permission. He was not so paranoid after all, who really made to be killed by one of the people in his own backyard.) A plot of genocide against the Jews of that time was frustrated by strategies of followers of a young woman.

Another biblical book of Ruth is a heroine. This is a quick read (this Only four chapters), who impressed as a short story. Ruth refuses to leave the care of his widowed mother-in-law, even when his mother-in- Law gives funny. Ruth follows her mother in law to Bethlehem, where he works on one of the collectors. This was a group in the rough, men who have made the most boisterous back-breaking work in the hope of scraping enough to feed his family. Through numerous trials, Ruth remains quiet, hardworking, honest young woman finally draws the attention of an eminent man. Biblical authorities sometimes struggle a bit to how Ruth has been able of Boaz to marry her. Some say he was too far ahead, even fat, however, a study of the culture of their time reveals that did what he had to do for the man who learned he was admired capable of marriage.

Other Biblical Women are Sarah (who followed her husband to the promised land and have had a baby at the age of 100, the Bible says, is old for this kind of thing!) and Miriam (sister Moses and prophet) and Abigail, one of the eight wives of King David.

More emphasis is made on the so-called bad girls the Bible, including the queen (a Gentile woman Jezebel murderers who pushed her husband in everything, and it was a bit hard character), and sometimes, Bathsheba, another of the many wives of King David.

Bathsheba can get a bad reputation. King David committed adultery with Bathsehba it is in fact true, David Bathsheba became pregnant while she was married to another man and he was not married to her. But it is not clear to what extent the constraint of the King of this woman. We know that David watched, watched as she bathed, and spent some time with it. It is not known whether and to what extent could have protested. The Bible is strangely silent on this point.

In the New Testament, the Bible says There were women among the disciples of Jesus. There are two prominent Mary (a friend of Jesus, and not his mother or wife Madeleine surname) and Martha. When Mary decided one day to sit among the men and to hear Jesus Instead of teaching work in the kitchen with his sister Martha, Jesus said that Mary chose the better part. This was not a social faux pas, but rather a revolutionary movement, because women at that time were not worthy of education and certainly not in a group of educated men.

When Jesus was tried, beaten and sent death on the cross, He had long since abandoned by most of his supporters and even his entourage of apostles, but few women, including Mary his mother, faithfully stayed with him as he died. The church was moved in large part by women like Lydia, who helped support travel Missionaries Paul and, according to legend, but not the Bible, Luke may have helped to support by writing his Gospel.

Priscilla is mentioned Daikon as a church in Greece, the term can mean something a deacon or an assistant pastor and Paul in Romans, she learned much credit. Women in range from the Bible of the mysterious Queen of Sheba in the outspoken Leah, Dinah and Tamar, daughter of King David (both ad Tamar Dinah were victims of violence) Esther and Jezebel, who ruled with varying degrees of piety.

The Bible includes a warrior (Deborah led troops in battle) and women work (Ruth and the Proverbs 31 woman who go unnamed) powerful women (Esther, Miriam) and unmarried women (a widow who became a friend of Elijah or prophetess Anna, who lived in the Temple of Jerusalem).

The Bible presents such a diversity of women in everyday situations and not very common for readers who creates the idea that women throughout history also have been involved in politics, war, religion, and the causes of major and minor. The fact that all women in the Bible is described as a pious authenticates and honored the many women who appear in its pages. As in real life, the women of the Bible in all shapes, colors, sizes, and a wide range of capabilities and intentions.
