How To Safely Operate Hedge TrimmersÂ

Hedge trimmers can be a very useful tool for you to use in your garden to keep the hedges trimmed and your pride and joy looking nice. However, regardless of whether you use petrol, electric, or battery operated trimmer, you need to use it in the safest manner possible to avoid getting injured due to misuse.

Other safety features include blades that stop instantly when the power is turned off along with a safety clutch to prevent the hedge trimmer from kicking back at all. Many trimmers also have a guard that will protect your hands and is located between the blade and handle.

Some other safety features are required depending on whether they are gas or electric. Gas hedged trimmers are safest if the blades stop when the engine is at an idle. If yours doesn't, be certain that the trimmer is completely turned off when you switch from one area to another for working. Certain trimmers have emission standards that cut down on the ones that are emitted. Another feature, although not a safety one, is a fuel tank that is translucent to allow you to know how often you need to fill up the tank.

Electric powered hedge trimmers need their own set of safety rules and regulations. The best performance is completed with a motor that is 2.8 amps. A three prong plug is needed if the motor does not have double insulation. It allows the motor to be grounded. A two prong plug will work as long as the motor is double insulated. This means that the motor has grounding built into it.

With your electric hedge trimmers that have a cord, a pigtail is desired. This is something that connects to the extension cord as opposed to a socket being present on the machine itself. This makes is quite easy to switch work stations from one section to another. It can also prevent the accidental disconnection of the cord if it gets pulled too hard. A cord clip will also help keep the cord from getting in the way of the blades and getting cut. This is one of the biggest safety concerns with electric hedge trimmers.

All hedge trimmers have their own set of safety instructions that should be followed closely to avoid injuring both yourself and any others that you may be operating the equipment around. Sometimes they may be a hassle but follow them and you will be thankful for it.

can i use my cordless shaver in the shower?

Hey people i dont know if its safe to use or not, dont have the manual on me aswell.....is it alright to use my cordless beard trimmer in theshower (it runs on batteries)not mains....

some shavers are meant to work in the shower. chances are, if you don't know, you own one of the many that don't. (if it did, it would have been one of their big selling points) You run the risk of ruining the shaver.
