I don't think just sending him a message saying, "Well, hey I want to be a famous R&B artist, can you help me out?" would get you anywhere, even if you think you have what it takes. You could mail him about listening to a demo of yours (if you have one) or something you've written and recorded, if it displays true skill and musicianship, he'd be an idiot to ignore you.

But yeah you can't just expect him to take you because you say you can do it, you have to prove it to him.
