I purchased Groom Mate Platinum XL Nose & Ear Hair trimmer for my Grandfather. Having protruding hair in the nose is one of the tell-signs of aging. He also has long hair in his ears. My Grandpa complained that with he couldn't trim his nose hair already because his hands shake and so he tends to cut the insides of his nose. I decided to buy it because of the reviews that I read, the money-back guarantee and the lifetime warranty.

What I like about it is that my Grandpa will surely not be afraid of it. My Grandpa is afraid of electronic gadgets. For one, this nose and ear hair trimmer is not battery operated. It doesn't need cords and plugs. All one has to do is to put the rotary end inside the nostril or ear and rotate the other end. The rotary scissors will cut the hair.

The only thing that I was afraid of was if it will really last a lifetime and if it will not hurt or cut when my Grandpa uses it. I had it delivered to me so that I check it first and maybe return it I feel that my Grandpa will not be able to use it. When it arrived, it looked pretty good to me. When I held it, it felt like it was really made of solid metal and not metal-plated plastic.

When I went to my Grandpa to give it to him, at first, he didn't want it. He said he would rather use tweezers or scissors. But when I told him it was not electric and that all he needed was to twist the end of the trimmer, he accepted it.

It has been 2 years since I gave it to my Grandpa and he's still using it. It never hurt the inside of his nose and he never had embarrassing nose hair since I gave it to him.

Why do older men lose the hair on their heads but start growing lots of nose hair, ear hair and facial hair?

Why did nature do this? What are benefits to the human body to have hair growing out of the ears, bushy nose hairs, bald head? The evolutionists should have an answer since they seem to know the reason behind the origin of man, trees,grass,birds, viruses, bacteria, and the universe.

Not everything biological has a benefit; not all of our traits serve evolution. Genetic evolution proceeds through differential reproductive success, so if more ear and nose hair attracts more mates for older men there may be a benefit, but as far as I know there is no definitive scientific investigation into this mystery.

There certainly is a genetic component to all of this hair though - not every man is gifted with such excess. It may be related to the relative levels of hormones as men age. Men and women both have male and female hormones. Men have a preponderance of testosterone but as they age this level drops, so old men may cry more or become more emotional as their relative level of progesterone increases. Hair growth is also affected. Women's levels of progesterone drop as they age, so they have a relative increase in testosterone levels, which is why some old women grow mustaches and turn into bullies
