Battery Operated Toothbrushes - Top 3 Design Faults

A lot of people prefer to use battery operated toothbrushes because they allow you to brush your teeth without having the trouble of missing out and bits. What I mean by this is that if you use a manual toothbrush then it is on you to make sure your clean your whole set of teeth to an acceptable level. Using the electric toothbrush this is easier to achieve because the high intensity rotation ensure that the brushes get to the hardest to reach places.

Battery operated toothbrushes design faults

These electrical products do however have design faults that leave room for improvement. My top 3 design faults are listed below:

1. The heads are usually not compatible with those of other brands. This means when you buy new toothbrush heads you will have to buy from the same brands as the thing is made by. This is a problem because it does not give you much choice and if the heads are expensive then you can end up paying a lot of money for the heads per year to the level where the actual price of the original device will look cheap.

2. Another problem is that they are too big or at least bigger than they need to be. This is because they need to fit in two AA batteries. In my eyes this problem can be overcome by using more modern technology which uses small rechargeable batteries. This does need some research and development however because the AA batteries have a reputation for providing a very consistent energy stream whereas micro rechargeable batteries are more prone to faults.

3. Heads should be more customizable so that the consumer has a large choice. So if someone wants a smooth battery operated toothbrush or a stiff one then they should be able to get what they want. What usually happens is because of the compatibility brush heads problem there is limited choice. This usually happens with the Braun and Sonicare brands.
