I have a Braun electric shaver that has a self cleaning device with an alcohol based liquid. The liquid is $$?

The liquid comes in plastic containers that fit into base of cleaning device. They only hold a couple ounces & cost at least $5.00 each. The liquid smells just like isopropyl alcohol & is quite inexpensive. I'm sure the packaging cost more than the liquid. Has anyone replaced used fluid with fresh iso alcohol? It would be easy enuff to do. Any problems you can see doing this? I don't want to damage razor as it was rather expensive.

No. They mix lubricants into the cleaning Solution so the motor doesn't burn out.

I have a similar kind of shaver and I tried using a cheaper cleaning fluid that wasn't meant for the razor and within 3 days my cleaning base stopped working. I was lucky and the company warranted the razor.

I just don't clean my razor quite as often so I make the fluid last 6 weeks or so. That is how I cut down on the cost.
