tassimo water filter: black specks normal?

i have a braun tassimo single cup coffee maker. i got it 2 years ago. i never really used it much, so i never changed the filter until now. last week i bought a filter and when i received it, there was black stuff coming out of the filter. kind of like coffee grinds. i called tassimo and they said to return it because nothing should come out. i returned it and got another, and it was the same way. i called tassimo once more, and again, they said it was not normal. while i was looking online today, everyone says its ok in other filters, but i have found nothing about the tassimo filter. does anyone know if it is ok to use? or has anyone had this happen? i dont want to get sick, but i REALLY want my COFFEE!!!!

Not Sure what the filter looks like, or its intended purpose. If this is a water filter, filtering the water before it enters the coffee maker more than likely it is a Carbon Block or GAC filter. The “coffee grind like deposits” is probably carbon gains. Try cycling water through your system a few times and see you have a reduction in theses.
